Misraq Education Initiative
We are dedicated to improving the global access to educational resources, serving 75 under-resourced students in Grades 1-5 through hands-on learning and volunteer support from Haile-Manas Academy and Bahir Dar University.
As a result of the humanitarian crisis in Ethiopia, more than 7.5 million students are unable to attend school in early 2026. The Misraq Education Initiative is designed to improve the global access to education by teaching 75 students from Grades 1-5 at the Misraq Ghion Pre-Primary and Primary School mathematics, science, and English.
Mathematics
Developing critical mathematics skills such as counting, multiplication, division, and the ability to answer complex word problems with interactive lessons that involve both digital and traditional classwork.
Science
Expanding the interests of students in Natural and Environmental Science with hands-on labs with microscopes and demonstrations.
English
With interactive communication games, students will develop confidence in their English comprehension and speaking skills. The instructors teach using books, speaking assignments, and engaging online activities.
